Pines
About This Spot
Walking into Pines in Seymour, you’re greeted by a sense of easy familiarity—a warm, inviting spot where the pace slows just enough to settle in and feel right at home. The hum of conversation mingles with the soft clatter of plates and the welcoming smiles of staff, creating an atmosphere that feels deeply grounded in community and comfort.
Here, mealtime moves with a relaxed rhythm, one where the bustle of everyday life softens against the backdrop of classic American fare served with an unmistakably personal touch. There’s a kind of simple joy in the way fresh-cut meats are presented, the salad bar offers vibrant, crisp choices, and the comforting sides bring a feeling of nostalgia without fuss. Pines isn’t about bold reinventions or flashy twists; it’s about the quiet pleasure of well-made dishes that invite you to pause and savor each bite.
Whether you find yourself sitting down for a casual weekday lunch or gathering with a larger group on a lively Friday evening, the environment adapts without losing its sense of warmth. Friendly, attentive staff make the experience feel less like just another meal and more like a shared moment—comfortable, unpretentious, and satisfying. The buffet’s range—from home-style roasted meats to thoughtfully prepared desserts—offers a little something for everyone without ever rushing the experience.
In all, Pines captures the essence of a hometown American restaurant where food feeds more than just appetite; it nourishes connection, memory, and an easy sense of belonging.

Haven't been to The Pines for a long while. Today we had time to go and have the buffet. Everything was ready good. Roast beef, ham , big chicken breast, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, oh, the Meatball are Fantastic . Also, peach cobbler, apple cobbler, pecan pie, and lots more. Staff was wonderful.

This place was great! Buffet had that cafeteria vibe like MCL or Grey Brothers. They were able to seat our group of 14 on the fly. Nice and attentive staff. Chicken was off the chain!

This is probably my favorite buffet I have been to. I can't say any food completely blew me away, but everything I tried was just a few notches above lovely. I'd call it wholesome, country, comfort food. I went during their Friday BBQ night and I think you'll find the slightly higher Friday price to be worth it. Definitely will eat there again.

Sunday only family buffet dining of highest quality and flavor. Skip only the persimmon pudding.
